Ok everyone I know it's tons of fun making posts and all that but I have to ask everyone this question. Is it really necessary to revive dead topics over a month old just so you can make a post? That little number at the bottom of your name that tells how many posts you made is just a number. There is no significance to it. Having tons of posts doesn't make you smarter than the rest of us on wlodb. You are not better at wl because you have tons of post and a high rank. If you think because you have a high rank that people will take your posts more seriously then you are wrong. It isn't that amount of posts that matter but the content in each and every individual post. If you give good information then people will respect and listen to you. Rank has nothing to do with it.
I'm not saying that everyone out there is reviving dead topics for posts. I know sophieka made a post in an old topic but she was asking a question that delt with the topic and the topic had never been answered and something like that is perfectly fine. But why make a post in a topic that has already been answered and is no longer active and you have no reason to post there? The only thing reviving dead topics accomplishes is moving all of the active topics that people might have posted questions in further down the list. I don't go searching through each and every forum to find a topic that needs answered and I'm sure others don't either. Topics that have had recent posts are added to the home page and that is where I look to answer questions and I'm sure that is where everyone else looks aswell. So when people are busy reviving dead topics it pushes all of the topics with questions to the bottom or even off the home page and so we miss helping people in the game. So why do something like that?
Maybe I am misunderstanding people on this forum but I see things like this as a sign of disrespect towards wlodb.com, scott, seawolf and all the members of this forum. The forums were created to help people. To give them a better gaming experience so they can enjoy their time playing wonderland online. Reviving dead topics so that we can't help those with actual question hinders them from advancing in the game and that is not a fair thing to do to them. Scott and all those who were around when the site was created put a lot of work in to this site to make it easy for everyone to use and I think, as members of this site, we should show our appreciation by using the site in the way that it was intended to be used. To help others and share our experiences in the game. Posting to get ranks and reviving dead topics isn't what the site is here for. I do hope that people will start to show more respect on the site one day.(editing posts, no double posting, no reviving dead topics, no posting poinless things for ranks)

I know this is a long post and there are some of you out there who will not read this and will spam this topic with junk about how long this post is and that's fine. But to everyone out there who reads this topic thank you for reading it.

Well, most of the people see posting as a popularity contest. Just like in WLO fora in IGG. We can't help but to cope with these idiotic all play and all talk people. They don't use 100% of their 1% to its fullest potential to understand simple factoids.

Oh, what the heck?!

Good Job Sarin xD I get so pissed off when I saw Cookie reviving the old topic.. for no reason.. seriously I think she typed in the search Fred and posted a pointless replay.. Maybe Fred addicted? Nah I have the similar image as with mS.Lovely or whatever she spwll it. She spammed the forum the same way, just with even more stupid posts.

And yes I revived an old topic about City-Guarding weapons, because I was about to post about those weapons, but before I did it, I searched in the topics and found it, so no sense making a new topic with exactly the same question. I was hoping that someone may give me info, but if seems not many of the players holded the castle yet lol

Yeah I think something like that is perfectly fine. We should search for topics and then if there isn't a topic that our question fits in then make a new topic. I think was you did was absolutely correct. You had a question, searched it, found an old topic and read it and since there was no answer asked the question again to bring it to people's attention. I think something like that is fine. But it's people that post 'cool' 'yeah Fred is cool' and things of that nature that need to stop. Those things are not ok in my opinion.
Thanks everyone for your replies ^^ It's good to know that people agree with me. Sorry I had a long rant

Why do you need to post in the topic though? after a few months there is no longer a need to post 'hey thanks for the guide' in the topic. I think when people make a guide a few posts saying 'hey thanks for the guide' are ok so the person knows that we appreciate what they did but after that I think the posts should be constructive criticism if needed to help make the guide as complete as possible. When I guide is stickied that means it's good enough to be used by the members of the site. It's there specifically to help you. And some of these guides were made a long time ago and the person who made it might not even use the site anymore so you are basically giving a thumbs up to a wall. So I don't see the reason to put 'hey thanks for the guide' every time I come across a guide I want to use'. That would be like getting a guide book for a game and writting a letter to the people who make the guide book telling them 'hey thumbs up on a great guide'

Anyway. I agree with aaron that maybe the forum admins could go through old topics every once in a while and lock old topics that are answered so that people stop posting in them.
