Hello..
few weeks ago I was trying to make some white coats for my newbie characters, I remember few years ago (2008 I think) I used to make coats from compounding beast fur + coconut (pulp).
but now it seems you cannot get coat anymore from compounding them..
can anyone confirm?

If you are talking about white coats, check the compound list first to see if it is there to confirm, and it could be that your compound lvl is too high or too low to make it anymore.

beast fur is rank 2 and the pulp iis rank 6. the flower of the pulp will always over power the fur since its the higher rank and you will always get back flower based items... so you need rank 6 or higher fur to compound with the pulp. good luck.

I never know about the overpowering second ingredient before >.<
I always thought with primary alchemy, the second ingredient is for the catalyst, so I usually use higher second ingredient for better chance to get big jump..

so my thought was:
beast fur (rank 2) + coconut (rank 6) = higher chance to get white coats (rank 6 leather/flower)

but I guess I was wrong.. I compound almost 2 stacks of beast fur + coconut now, and all I got was straw mushrooms and rarely rank 4 bracers.
never got a white coat >.<

But then I tried again with wolf fur (rank 6) + coconut (rank 6) like you said, it produces many coats (white, green, black, blue) almost 100% chance..

Edit: I compounded 1 stack of wolf fur and got no red coat (rank 10)
so maybe +4 jump is really hard, maybe that's why I always get straw mushrooms when using beast fur.. >.< my primary alchemy level is only 7.

yes you can use primary but even then the coats are to high to jump. you will still need rank 6 or higher leather.

think of it this way. you are using rank 2 right? and the lowest coat is rank 6 highest coat is rank 11. 6-2=4 which means you'll need to try for a +4 jump on primary. unless you compound 100 tries you'll likely only get 1 or 2 coats if you are LUCKY
so with the leather already being 6 (wolf fur, snake skin etc...) you will always get white, black, blue and green MAYBE red if you're lucky. now on junior or superior you will likely get all the coats. as for gold coat just compound red with rank 10 or 9 flowers or green with rank 9 flowers.

and for red best to use higher alchemy if you don't have higher then compound the coconut pulp together with another pulp and try to get rank 7 or 9 flower (redhood [rank 7], it looks like a red head band, pay attention cause hard to miss. i usually toss out thinking its a red headband or try for cotten gloves [rank 9])use the green with the gloves or blue with the hood and compound them. it may require a few tries but if you are lucky you may end up with gold coat as well.

aniways i think you should get junior alchemy all you need is 2-3 chameleon tongue, 1-2 ant antenna and 5 dragon tooth. deliver them to the witch at polo island. if you are able to get someone to help you get to polo and to get those items that'd be great if not then just collect antenna from the troll cave where all the ants are. or ask someone who's training in rome (unless you are).

to get you chameleon tongue compound bee spine (get from killing bees) or scorpion thorn (kill scorpions)or just compound wolf tooth. I'd suggest wolf tooth because you can get dragon tooth, and dragon squama . keep those. anything else you get try and use it to make tongue (rank 5) (any rank 16 claws you get i'd say keep them cause they come in handy later. you can even use it to rank up titanium and make defence armour... but i'm getting ahead of my self and that's just going to confuse you.)

for the squama if you use it in your hot kiln you can make dragon scales which is rank 16 magic.
now dragon scale + rank 16 claw will ranks down to magic powder (rank 12 magic)
thats why i mentioned keeping the rank 16 claw. the rank 14 would work too. because it saves you from making extra scales and doing scale + scale. when you can save your scales and do scale + claw instead.

oh and the powder you need 3 for senior/superior alchemy...
lvl 10 junuior alchemy, 3 magic power, 5 clear devil spar, 2 blue stone and 5 stars
(if you need extra help about superiour just do a search there is a lotta topics about where to get alchemy skill)

I have junior alchemy already on my alt, but it's only at lv.3 so I thought I use this char's primary alchemy which is lv.7.. I don't know which one is better primary lv.7 or junior lv.3 Hehehe...

So.. +4 jump is very hard to get with primary alchemy but easier with junior alchemy and even more easier with superior alchemy, am i correct?

junior is better. lvl that instead. later when you can, and when junuior is lvl 10 or higher try and get senior.

yes higher the alchemy the better the jump, and easier it becomes for you (though it still all about luck and some of the easiest things can still fail, i noticed that its becoming harder the more the game updates.. dunno why). example primary is +1, junior is +2 and senior is +3 base jump. which means its a garanteed jump of what ever the base is. so always use the highest alchmey you own. (i always try to get junior for all my chara and if i'm bored i may try and get superior for a few of them. it helps when i do instance and i trade the instance items they get.)

the higher you lvl the more you are likely to get the item you need you may even end up over jumping.

When I made the alchemy guide(with pictures..) on here, I named it Senior too, that's what our server calls it.

Open mind = refers to your thoughts of anything. not everyone says somthing the same. each server is like a diffrent country they each have their own language for somthing and their own ways to go about somthing. you can't just tell someone that somthing is done wrong when to them it's the only way they know. or its what they follow and have known and it seems right to them. when another way seems right to you. it may be foreign to you but that does not make it wrong.
