as u can see jade loricae is copper/steel/titanium (X/Y/Z)
and emerald boot is copper/steel (X/Y)
(one more possible item for ur formula is Bronze Hatchet [copper/steel](X/Y)

so yes its confirmed for Z part of formula may become none ^^

its normal for X + Y to become X/Y or X/none
, so its logically acceptable for X + Y + Z to become X/Y/Z or X/Y or X or may be X/Z(assuming sub material base order doesn't matter)
