A friend of mine hacked several universities and foreign embassies and he hasn't been caught until recently...by the FBI...he showed me the warrant they issued on him, they took his phone, computer, facebook account, etc,etc and he hasn't been caught by the FBI for years now just by using a proxy (he didn't get into serious trouble though, they just pretty much told him "good job, but don't do it again" xD ha, sneaky little guy..).

Fun Fact: The internet was created for military purposes by America (Haha bet you didn't know that). No one truly owns the internet, but some people own a wide percentage of it. The FBI can track your location with or without a proxy which is true enough that it takes a little longer. But we aren't the FBI, so unless you have some mad FBI-hacking-without-getting caught-skills, I wouldn't say you could track their exact location.

To answer your question, it's rather simple:

So some psycho doesn't come to their company and kill them all or destroy their network?
