door opened perfect for me when i clicked the torch, and i don't remember any other requirement for the quest,hmmm try these(though not sure about them)

1=>make sure u fly into pyramid leading in the vehicle(not in team with some other in the vehicle)
2=>did u click the gold plate near torch before u clicked the torch?
3=>hmm about fairies question u asked, ..... well not sure if Charlotte quest(or its 1st 5 parts) is related to getting design , but when i got the design i have completed charlotte
