For a pet to be burstable it must have a assist skill In example a buff or debuff. This skill will be listed under the Assist Tab in Skill section. If there is no skill there then that pet cannot be bursted for level gaining. Plus Healing Skills are not burst skills either. So they cannot be bursted for leveling.
{Recommended Equipment}
Spoiler:
Pet Armlet - Just for the extra HP. (Guide by DeathStar)
Cloudy Sword - Just for the extra HP. (Guide by handsome97)
Dazzling Armlet - For initial speed boost til sufficently faster than pets being used for the burst. (Guide by Balthier22)
{Pets with assist skills that cannot be bursted}
Spoiler:
Recovery Skills are not a burst skill even tho they are under the assist tab. These Pets cannot be bursted becasue there skill is not a Buff or debuff.

There might be more Im sure someone will let me know. So Please post info if you got it.
{Speed Issues}
Spoiler:
When your pet is lower lvls like 1-15. Thier speed might be an issue because they are too slow. I reccomend for the human pets you equip them with the Dazzling Armlet for the +50spd. It may take small amount of equipment damage for the 1st 3 battles you fight with them. Senior Beetles which is the current popular burst spot are lv23. So When your burst Pet reaches lv5 it will not take equip damage no more. When suffiently fast replace armlet with another or remove all together if not needed.
{Skill Clashing}
Spoiler:
Some burstable pets use same skill as your party to burst and you might have a clash. For example Shasha uses Freeze on last round. Normally the water uses Freeze on the third round. The solve to this would be to swap Freeze and Sleep around while you are bursting Shasha. The only other pet currently with a possible Clash is Qlaya if you burst with a Wind Char. Just swap Cord and Coma around on the remote to solve this. If you fail to swap these skills around the pet by default if the char hit with skill will do a normal attack and mess your burst up.
Secondly buff skill. If you are bursting a pet with a buff skill. You must cut off all other peoples Buff Skills on Pets. The way they award xp for buff skill skills is whoever gets the buff on 1st gets xp. If you cast the buff skill 2nd on the Pet then you get 0 xp for it. Example. You are bursting Xaolan. Ur Water casts Water Shield on the Cow and the next Round Xaolan casts Stone Wall. Xaolan will get 0 xp for that casting. The Water will get the xp. So dont use buffs with Water,Wind,Earth, or Fire Chars on Pets. Have Earth defend instead of Shield Defence. Have Water do Magic Recovery on Pet and make sure the pet ur bursting is within its range. Have Wind Defend instead of SpdUp. And dont have a Fire do a Buff on its pet if its Assist training. This will maximize the amount of xp you get from bursting your buff pets.
{Debuff Pets} ----------
Debuff is a Skill cast on enemies. These are the easiest Pets to burst train. In my experience debuffs give more xp than using a buff skill.
Only Water, Earth, and Fire have Skill. Wind does not have skill. This skill is compatiable with Fires Poison Skill and will not cause a clash.
{Buff Pets} ---------
To burst a Buff pet is a bit trickier than a debuff pet. But it is actually very simple. As with Debuff Pets speed may be an issue at lower levels so follow the advice on how to speed them up there.
With Vanish only the pet itself can be buffed with it. SO you have to keep going to higher level mobs to get faster leveling. This is rather assist training rather than bursting. But that is what bursting is anyways lol.
{Other} -----
This Section includes pets with special debuffs that cant be used on enemies or other party members. But they can be assist trained for more xp than normal train pets.

{Conclusion}
Spoiler:
This concludes this primer for bursting burstable pets. Anyways Good luck on getting your pets higher level.
