Hello and happy new year(for those who are only celebrating their new year) to everyone. I'd noticed obvious overpricing in each server, as usual I asked people outside of the WLO fora in IGG, and some of them are very disgusted. In short, economy is destroyed. In Sagittarius itself, I'd noticed it myself because most of the players told me that people from Aries went there to do their overpricing schemes as they do in their own server. But if you want to earn more gold and respect from other players, you should step aside greed for a minute and take a peek on what I, in behalf of these players have to say in order to stabilize it:

Advice #1: Consider the rarity of materials in compounding equipment(weapons, armors, accessories) and player's needs/demands

This is a basic thing I'm sure you people know. The rarer the material is in order for you to make for an example, a King's Gown. In order for you to make one, you need a high level Grass material like Grass Hat, a high level Flower material, Metal Gown, and an Alchemy Book 1.

Let's say the approximate price of those 3 in total is, 47,000 gold. Of course we can't argue that most of the high level equipment are really hard to make, and materials to make one does not come cheap. But be reasonable in tagging a price on it, because most of the people at level 56 might look for a King's Gown, like 32% of the people on the server for example.

If that is the case, you can increase your price, but by a minimal percentage, like 2% to 15% original price. Don't be so excessively greedy like most of the people in other servers, raising it to 200% to 500% of the original price, that even Fairy Shoes costs 20,000 gold. That's insanely surreal, if you want to be a fair and known businessman in a game like Wonderland Online.

Advice #2: Be open on bargaining

Every businessman knows in order for you to earn respect and reputation as a good salesman is to let the client tell his price, and from there you can talk on it. It's an intergral part of having a great business with another player so he/she can come back to you if she needs something that you might have on your store.

Like for an instance, you tagged an Alchemy Book 3 for 70,000 gold. Now if you're online and a potential customer wants to buy it from you, but cannot afford it on your original price, because he badly needs it, let him say how much he have, and start from there. Remember, set greed aside, and let him bargain. But not to the point that the player is getting "noob" on his bargaining. Being cheap is good sometimes, but not all the time.

Advice #3: Outplay your competitors.

It's pretty simple. If your competitors sell unreasonable prices on basic commodities(e.g. syrups, common low level equipment, materials), be real and be fair. Sell those items in a price that players can surely afford. By doing that, you're outcompeting those greed gluttons, at the same time you're earning something those people don't, that is integrity and reputation as a fair salesman.

Closing Remarks

These advices are proven, since I'd been a businessman in some online games and people replied also had their reputation on being a mogul in their own games as well, and many people do share the same thoughts. The point here is, to be fair, and not to be a glutton for gold. Just because some people control the price doesn't mean you cannot outcompete them totally. It's a matter of having the right intention on how to negotiate and deal with your fellow players.

Happy new year, and let's have a fun 2010, everyone!

:D Homer, you really like to write down my thoughts :D Seriously, when ppl complaining about prices and economie, I wonder who is at fault.. The seller who put unreal prices on his/her goods or the buyer who is willing to pay an unreal amount of money.. The prices should reflect the usefulness of the items! Of course rare items are more expansive, I agree in that, but only if the prices are reasonable! The advices you give, I hope everyone would concider them.. Economie makes the prices, but the players make the economie!

totally agree with you guys. Though I'm against people saying 'such and such item SHOULD cost ONLY such and such amount' because there is no set price for items. If there were igg would have a book full of prices for each and every item. But I do think people are to greedy. Honestly why sell stuff at a high price. If you sell things cheaper then everyone else then you will likely sell more than the other person selling it at an insanely high price. For instance syrups. If someone is selling syrups at 80g and you come in and sell at 50g. People will likely buy your syrups at 50g before they buy the other persons syrups at 80g. so while they may make more money for every syrup you will be makeing more money because you will be selling a higher quantity than the people selling at 80g because you are selling cheaper. Plus if you have a constant stock of syrups at a constant cheap price you will have returning customers. And I know this as a fact :P because I did this in scorpio and people would bring all of their alts to my tent and then their friends would show up. I had a storage room filled with syrups along with the item storage guy for 2 alts and because I had cheaper prices than everyone else all of my stock was bought up by a few people and their alts. so who made more money? :P me selling tons and tons of syrups or the people around me selling at higher prices who probably didn't get much business because I sold all my syrups? :P

yes, agree there, use normal prices, not unreal onse, but you have to make sure you get enough from those goods or else you won't have too much effect on the market, and prices will remain in the same level.
