best thing to do would be to talk on world or local chat and get to know some people. It's kind of hard to get to find people you know on wlodb in the game because of different time zones and such. If you can burst try to find a burst team and friend request them and get to know them. sometimes you can become good friends with them. but other times they just want to burst and don't care about being friends.
