water can heal
fier can kill
land can errrr have not played
wind as far as me know SH**

Water heals, yes. (healing powers)
Fire kills, yes. (destructive powers)
Earth protects. (protective powers)
Wind strikes. (speed powers)

Fire and Wind can work together as the best.
Both elements are aggressive and Wind can be buffed by Fire's Hot Fire.

Waters:
Primarily mages/support.
Fires:
Mainly warriors, mages are good as well. Built for powerful attacks, no known hidden skills though.
Earth:
I'd have to say warriors, but the hidden skills for a mage are powerful as well.
Wind:
Yeah... wind doesn't seem great to me either. Tend to have low CON because they need points in other things (especially AGI), and their weakness is fire (built for powerful attacks). The wind goddess skill, Vanish, is very useful though... unless against a fire mage.

My top choices are Fire and Water, Earth can hold its ground, but Wind... just not my choice.

it was back when me was a noob but me cant stop with my wind now

For me, I use a fire warrior and a water healer as mains.

I recommend using an Earth alt(add all points to CON) to walk-remote in Kelan cave for ores and money, because Earth has got high hp and def to last over-night. So Earth is good for remoting.

For wind... IN MY OPINION, I dont like wind. Because if you are a fighter, you need CON, WIS, and ATK. If you are a mage/healer, you need CON, WIS, and INT. And since you only get 3 points per lvl increase, you dont have spare point to add to AGI when high lvl...

This is why I chose Fire and water as my two mains... (though I did not choose Earth as remoter, because I thought very high AGI means high chance of dodging attacks, but it turns out to be CON... -.-lll )

Wind enchanted with HF can deal massive damage. Wind has 3 extra hidden attack based skills which makes wind technically the strongest melee fighter.
