Does alchemy level really decide what you can or cannot make?
I thought it only affects your chances of getting higher rank compounds.

yes alchemy level does not decide the things that can be compounded, theoretically lvl 1 alchemy also can give a very good compound

alchemy level decides the "chance" or probability to get higher level items

generally the higher the alchemy lvl the higher chance to get high lvl compounds

but one important thing is many people have noticed that certain alchemy levels can increase the chance to achieve certain levels of compounds easier

if u get alchmy lvl 8 n u got junior alchmy wut ever lvl i suggest u used junior coz
i wanna compound skeleton steel sword i using my primary but it be common stone
n my fren try wif junior it be skeleton steel sword.
others example:
(primary)b jade + b jade = (red jade necklace / dragon wand)not always get.always get water necklace
(junior) b jade + bjade = ( red jade necklace/water necklace)not always get.dragon wand always get
but i need to study more about it
