well, i haven't seen a complete list of catchable and non-catchable monsters yet in any site(though i remember a kinda incomplete list in Japanese wiki), but in general most boss, u cant catch though some boss like giant corpse flower can ,also yea cant catch people-includes people u can PK in villages, and mobs like rocketman[maya] ,

we have yet to make a list to identify catchable and non-catchable monsters, i think adding a new field to monsters are on scott's todo list so just wait little bit till he finish other core updates, and hopefully in future we can start adding new monsters(a lot needed be added in v2.0 and v3.0 also)and add more info about monsters , its just that for now monsters are having little low priority on updates ,since not many people use monsters page, compared to other parts of website like compounds page ^-^
