Yes. You will lose the items when you trade them to him. So best to make 2 each. One for you and 1 for him.

If you want your Jalor to last you will need to feed it diesel oil. (Its not hard to make) takes about 5 crude oil and 6 fire wood. So that's 250 (5 stacks) oil and 300 (6 stacks) wood for a 1 stack fuel). You can get about 2 stacks of crude oil just from killing Rocket Men in Mayan for an hour.

Without fuel I suppose a Jalor will last about as much as having 3 1/2 - 4 boats.
