This is a guide on how I price any item i compound and Sell to other people. When deciding how much to charge there is 4 components to look at.
1. Price in materials it costed you to make the item.
2. Current price of Alchemy Books on your server.
4. Failure Variance
3. Profit.
Lets do a rough example.
Lets say you decided to make a Red Dragon Gown. I will not go thru the steps on making it but just list prices of each Component. I am being rough here not exact pricing.
1. It costed you lets say it costed you 100k in materials.
2. You used 3 Alchemy books valued at 300k total.
3. You add in 25k for a Failure variance. Not to say you failed this much on this particulair item.
4. Your Profit percentage. From guaging Leo lately it is around 60%.
So The Math:
[Materials]+[Books]+[Failure]=[Base Price]
100k+300k+25k=425k
[Base Price]+[Base Price*Profit%]=[Selling Price]
425k+(425k*.6)= 680k
On average right now when I go around and look at Red Dragon Gowns. They are going for 650-750k a peice on average. I do see a few that are 600k. But I also see alot that are 800k+.
As you see from the example above. The price of items is really based solely on the price of Alchemy books and the pcentage of profit a person wanted to have.
When book4s were 40k on Leo the average Red Dragon Gown Price was 350k-400k.
100k+120k+25=245k
245k+(245k*.6)=380k
There is really only 1 catch in this. This is for instance items. Since you get them for free you do not really have a hard value for them. So what you have to do is assign them a value on how much you think they are worth. Then add this to the material costs.
So the next time you need to do a price check for a compounded item you have made. Generate your own price using the formula above. If items are way too expensive on yuor server. Go around and check the prices people are selling alchemy books for and you will find out why they are so expensive. I know I been looking in Leo Server and have a hard time finding any Alchemy Book for sale. They are on the point where they are getting rare. Thus the prices of compounded equipment here is skyrising.
