I know it's expensive, but I compound Coal Ore, Coal Sand, Coal Ball with Bread from Kelan NPC. 500g per stack, but at 250k - 500k for a stack of Coal Block, I don't mind the investment. I've made several M in the last 2 weeks doing this. The hardest thing is collecting enough Coal Ore to keep the Coal Block stacks coming. I prefer to stick with rank 1 items, as I use Junior Alchemy and using a rank 2+ item as the 2nd material can screw up the Coal base... Recap: Compound Coal Ore W/ Organic Muck, Copper Ore, Saltpeter, Bread... keep compounding the resulting item with same 2nd ingredient till you get Coal Compound Coconut Oil w/ Organic Muck, Copper Ore, Saltpeter, Bread... keep compounding the resulting item with same 2nd ingredient till you get Tar With having all manufacturing time reduction furniture, it's 616 minutes for a stack of Coal Block. I usually get to make 2 per day, but sleep and other IRL stuff keep me from being able to star a manufacture every time the character's ready.
