a sticky topic means it is a good topic, and is useful. If a topic is sticky, that means it will always appear at the front page in its section. So if you go to the forum, and click the quests tab, you will find all the sticky topic in the front page and never gets moved. This will make the topic easier to find, because they are considered useful.
