animals are easier to capture if you weaken it first (hit it until low hp). If you find that your ATK is too high, get some low lvl pet, like a random animal from somewhere else.
you can use a low lvl human pet, with low ATK, they can wear out enemies' hp bit by bit. Just make sure you keep it alive.
