I assume you are having trouble with the lock device, but just in case you are having trouble at the locked door too...to open it you click the knife in the painting in the NE passageway, that's the key.

Now for the other lock, the poster on the north corner of the room has the combination, i suggest typing it into your chat bar, so you can see it later.
Then pull the switches in the order indicated...the switches are in order 1-6, with switch 1 being the closest to the poster. If you mess up, leave the room to reset the puzzle. That should be about it.
