There and back again - A Wonderland Story by darkdeaver.
Chapter 1 - In the beginning

As he grips his weapon he thinks to himself "I remember it like it was esterday. Wow look how things have turned out. I would never imagined myself facing off against these tpe of creatures using a toilet plunger. But hey that was the party wanted me to do". Then he charges toward the magnificant looking beast and swings his plunger as hard as he can. As the creature laughs it kicks him and he goes flying towards a pilliar in the room. Smash, his head hit its and now everything starts to fade into darkness.......
"Wow!?!?!" as he laughs out loud while talking on the phone. "Who would had imagined that I would win a free cruise from a drawing box at the local Chinese restraunt" he thinks to himself. "Too bad it was just for one ticket. It would had been nice to take a friend." He tells the lady on the phone whose name was Eva. " I will definitely have to request time off work when the trip sets out in a month and half. I still have one week vacation left this year but the cruise is two weeks. Thank you very much. I appreciate it". The lady quickly gives him the contact information for the agency and then hangs up the phone.
The next day Joe goes to work and explains to his boss, Chris, that he has won a cruise and it leaves in one and half months. " I will gladly let you go on your vacation, Joe." Chris quickly smiles then a grim expression forms on his face. "But for the second week, I cannot pay you, you are not saleried. So if your willing to take one week unpaid. Then your trip is set." After a few moments of reflection Joe says "I think I will do it. I mean I got this for free. The cost of the trip will just be my pay for the second week."
" Alright then I will let Lucy know." After saying this Chris buckles down to business talking about affairs of the company.
Like all things. When you are waiting for something time always seems to fly when you busy. The first month and 10 days fly by with a business as usual type of affair. "5 day days to go" Joe, thinks to himself. "I'm already packed and ready to go." Friday rolls around and while at home Joe recieves a phone.
"Hello Sir, This is Eva. There is a storm rolling in tomorrow morning. The captain has express a need to leave port tonight. Is there anyways you can make it here today? If we get everyone we can leave and you will get another night on the ship free." Joe says "I'm already packed I can come there tonight. I will see you then." After expressing thanks Eva hangs up the phone.
Joe quickly grabs his bags and throws them is his old Blue 1993 Chevrolet S10 pickup. Within 30 minutes he reaches the port and puts his truck in a paid parking spot. He the rates and reads the sign, One week $10/day, Two weeks $7.50/day. Please goto the Clerk to obtain a ticket. Maximum Charge is $250. Joe thinks to himself "I know my my trip is two weeks. But this extra half a night makes it a bit longer." As he smirks quietly walking towards the clerk "This must be how they get the extra money for parking. Make you trip an extra half a night."
"Hello Sir." Says the clerk. "How may days will you be gone?" Joe politely tells him "Fourteen whole days and 1 Night extra." The clerk smiles and says "It is customary to do a debit on your credit card for $250. We will refund the difference when you get back." Grudgingly Joe hands over his card. The clerk smiles does a quick swipe and hands him back his card and a receipt. Joe heads back to his truck and puts the receipt in his glovebox and slides a magnet key box on the underside of the truck with the door key. He then places his keys with the receipt and heads towards the dock.
Upon reaching the ship, he starts to walk up the stairs. He is greeted by other passengers, the Captain, and the First Mate. "Wow" Joe thinks to himself. This has to be one of the biggest ships I have ever seen. There must be a thousand rooms on this ship. After handing his ticket over to the Stewardess. She politely informs him " Your quarters are on Floor 6. Your room number is 66." As she hands him the card key Joe quickly glances at the reading the label " Room 666. If this key is found please return to front desk immediately." Joe grimaces then thinks "Well it could had been worse, I could been in room 13 on the top floor".
That night the winds started to kick up. Joe thinking it probally isnt a good idea to be outside with this type of gale heads to the bar. He walks over to the bar. The bartender poiltely says "My name is Breilat and what would you be having". "I will have a Roman Coke" Joe says. She makes his drink and he sits there and chats with her for awhile. After about 5 drinks she tells him "I'm bored working here. This is my 31st cruise and I would like to get out and see what it is like to be a passenger. How about you switch with me?" Joe thinks to himself then says " I tell you what as long as it is ok with your manager I will switch with you for 1 day. Let me know tomorrow." With that he gets up and exits the bar.
By this time the outside weather has gone from bad to worse. Joe looks around and notices off in the distance alot of lights flickering in the sky. Thinking to himself this is rather odd that we are in the storm but the lights are at a distance. It must be some tpe of beacon in the water.
The lights move closer and closer to the ship when all the sudden a large thud is heard. Joe quickly runs towards the bar as the captain runs out the door. He screams" The ship is sinking, everyone to the life rafts." A mobs of people come running and knocks Joe on the deck. Then another humongous thud on the hull.
All Joe can remember seeing is lights rotating from above in circular patterns as he is swept off the ship into the water. Then everything fades to black......
"It is too soon for him to die." A feminine voice says. "We can't let him die yet, we must use our power to save him." Another one says. Arcane words fill the air and a flash of bright white light fills the area."
"Hmmmm, I think I may have lost this one." A man says grabbing a body from the water. "I never seen someone this shade of purple when they come out of the ocean."
A loud cough is heard from the person as the man is taken aback. He gleefully screams "Finally a survivor."
Joe Stands up on the beach brushing off the sand when he notices that his skin is now purple. Shaken by this he asks "What has happened to me?". The man lets out a loud laugh and says " If that is all you got to say surviving that" As he points towards the wreckage "Then you are
truely lucky. My Name is Robinson, what is yours?" Joe thinks to himself" I don't know where I am and I don't know this person. After a moment looking at his skin he responds"My name is darkdeaver, and I am glad to meet you." He smiles as they shake hands.
