I started burst training (mini bursting lets call it) with 2 lvl 50 fires. 1 is a mage and the other is a fighter. I am killing straw chickens and using hyperkenetic chickens as my low lvl pet. I was making 800 exp when the pets were level 1, they level up after 1 kill. Then the exp goes down a bit, but still acceptable.
I figured I wasnt getting 1k+ because I was only using 2 charaters, so I got my water in the group. With no pet, I got the characters speed to 0 but can't get the pets speed down under the chicken pets.
I did my normal, fiery attack player, slowdown enemy, poison enemy, attack enemy with my 2 fires. I played the water manually, did recovery on self, freeze enemy, sleep enemy, attack enemy.
This was a perfect combo with all 3 player characters and both pets, did even more damage than when just 2 fire characters with pets. But only the 2 pets recieved any exp, not the player characters like they did without the added water characetr.
Does not using a pet screw up bursting?

No its not that its because it doesnt have a pet. Generally mini bursting is for fires slow, poison, gs/fiery attack, and then strongest attack skill. For waters its shrink, water shield, freeze, and sleep. Waters dont attack while bursting

lol thats not mini bursting, thats bursting, mini bursting is using one or two assistant and then attacking.

I'm gonna try this method for the water. I was attacking last round with the water.

mini burst? idk about tht. all i know is Burst and training =x='
burst = get more exp
training = usually for upgrade skill rank / pet human level up / non human pet lv up.

well, training or burst, if theres a dif, sry bout that. I'm working up my character level.

Without my water in the group and killing a single senior beetle (F), my 2 fires get ~ 500exp. I added the water and tried a few different ways to use buffs/debuffs in a 4 round battle. The best results I can get is that my water get the same exp as the fire and never attacks, also no pet. But with 2 buff and 2 debuff or with 2 blocks and then 2 debuffs, its the same.

I tried recovery, water shield, freeze, sleep
and also block, block, freeze, sleep

same results either way for me.

like i said though, with shrink as your first move it will earn more exp. you will get about 750~800 while your fires get ~500 still

idk about mini burst but in regular burst you need to do: shrink, water sheild, freeze, sleep
if you dont use shrink it's just training >.<

I unfortunately don't have any GS and I'm pretty sure shrink is water GS. I'm going to have to look for some help to get that done.

well, yeah the heart of burst is definitly shrink, or any other kind of skill that will raise the damage on the target, just like WIT JS. but anyhow, use pets, it's an important part of burst. And what kind of pet is really not important, what matters is that pet have to be a beast type, not human pet. However you can burst with human pets too, but it's an other method.

Sophieka is correct, You need to use -def/mdef skills like Shrink/Wit JS/Coma

Fiery attack barely raises your attack anyway, have you tried using GS man? its 3x the attack o.o not like Fiery which is like...1.2x.
You should look up for bursting guides man, don't improvise x.x

Bursting without a pet, of course it screws up the exp.
The whole idea of bursting is so that the game thinks a lower level animal
(lvl 1 cow) is making like 20k+ dmg, thats what gives you the most exp
because you're using the buffs..

bursting methods differ with servers

in gemini fires do:
slowdown, poison, GS, strongest "hit" move

and waters do:
GS, water shield, freeze, and sleep

when ur burting, make sure all attackers have less speed than the cows or whatever pet ur using
(btw: most ppl use earth cows or fire horses because they combo well and have decent power)

make sure u all have the same pet, one burstable pet is acceptable in a team (2 if their those flowers) but they will take away from ur exp.

fiery attack is usually used if someone doesnt have their GS, but u really should get urs

as for when u said u were gettin 800+ exp for doin it with 2 fires, thats not a bad alternitive to lvling until u can burst regularly, just b sure to use pets so ur exp wont suffer too much

You missed it I guess, in one post I stated I don't have GS. I really wish I did, let me tell you.
I've read at least 5 or 6 guides, on wlodb and also igg's forums. The thing I didn't expect was that adding the buffs/debuffs from my water did not increase the EXP I was gaining. I finally got the technique right, not attacking with my water and the EXP is the same as with just the 2 fires. I'm going to have to ask for help to get my characters their respective GS and then I should see better results.

Of course I'm using pets, my 2 fires both had low level pets with their speed adjusted to be from 1 - 20 while my fires were speed 0. I set my waters speed to 0 and tried attacking on the last round and thats when the EXP got screwed up. The EXP was only 30 for the lowbie pets and 0 for the characters. Once I switched my waters technique, I got the EXP as I did with just the 2 fires, but also got all that EXP with the water from just the buffs/debuffs.
I'm curious, people say to slow, poison, fiery attack (GS), then attack to kill. Slow and poison only last for 2 rounds, the slow would have worn off by the 4th round when I attack. Would that still count towards the extra EXP awarded? I use fiery attack, slow, poison, then attack because the fiery buff lasts 3 rounds and that way on the 4th round the slow is still active.

and Shrink cancels Slowdown and Poison, but the affect stays, like you did get to seal it, that is what gives you more exp of course

I'm on Taurus servers, bounce around to all 4 of them. I've been workign on my pets for the last 2 days, but intend on researching the GS quests and trying to get them done. Problem is, my wand is lvl 29 and my water is lvl 23. I suspect that they are too low of a level to do the quest, unless someone simply walks them through it.

But, I do plan on trying to get my GS with all 4 characters and soon.

Ive said i'll help you in the past if you want it... The gs quest is for any level, I do quest help for free, Anybody charging you money is totally ripping you off.
Level 10+ is fine, as long as you defend,
Under lvl 10 = Spawn, Defending or not defending, lol
If you're busy with focussing on certain chars right now, or dont wanna do the quest yet, just pm Falkette or Timotheus (Mainly on t1, for instances)
t2 or t4 ( for afking or questing so I dont lag)
Also I'd probably have to know your time zone and stuff..
Because there arent many english players on wlo at the moment :(

I was able to complete La Tim's battle for the Lease with my 2 chars by themselves, so thats why I never took you up on the quest help offer to do that. If I can find you ingame tonight, I'll send you a mail with my crafting alt. Before I actually took a look at the guide, I had no clue what the quest would be like. Not to hard, as far as being complicated, just a few strong mobs from what I see. I have my 2 mains at the stage in the quest that they have to go into the waterfall and kill the big white ogre looking mob.

Well, it's not like I don't know HOW to burst. I didn't know that having the water attack on the last round would ruin the whole thing, can't figure out why but, when the water attacked on the last round, only the low level pets would get EXP. That was unexpected and as the thread title states, "...not getting expected reults"
As for my comment, it was because I took that as very insulting and I was highly offended and angered by it. Their coment was not called for.

Another tip, I read that you use low lvl pet's for the fires but not for the water, I suggest get a pet for the water too^_^
