Riddle Paper is a "box" item, that upon opening can give you wide variety of items. Each Riddle Paper can give you only one type of item (with fixed amounts e.a. there will always be 40 pcs of Ginseng or 10 pcs of Minced Pork Congee and so on). This means you can't get two different items from one Riddle Paper.
If you'll open Riddle Paper it will automatically disappear, and you'll be asked a question, with four possible answers. Only one is good (the question pool is the same as the Q&A and Golden Compass question pools). Good answer will result in a reward- one of the following items:

Ginseng (along with chicken) can be used for manufacturing some really powerfull food. You can probably sell it for quite a high price.
On the other hand, ginseng with it's Rank 12 can be used as a high level second ingredient for compounds. It bumps first ingredient's rank quite well.
Riddle Papers are a wonderfull way to prepare for Golden Compass and Q&A events. Learn and memorize questions used in Riddle Papers. There is no time restriction when answering riddles so you can search up the proper answer in google or on the wlo site.

Abbysal devil gives 25 or 50 riddle papers, cant recall exactly xD
And you can get riddle papers on the great wall of china too.

And if i recall correctly was i not able to make the chicken thing with that ginseng, should try it out when i get my hands on some again.
