Ok up to now I've been struggling my butt off just to get my Junior to level 10.Because I was just randomly compounding stuff together,I know this is common knowledge to most of you but if it saves 1 poor fool from doing what i did I'm happy .So yesterday I read some post I accidentally came across while was looking for something completely different.Then I did some experimenting and this is what I came up with:

Alchemy levels from every SUCCESSFUL compound you do:

-A successful compound is any compound where the item you get back Is 1(or more)rank/s higher than the lowest ranking item in your compound

~so if you compound a rank2 + rank2 and get a rank 3 or higher it was a
success. If you get a rank 2 or lower its a fail~

-But evin if your compound is a success your proficiency will not rise
every time, It simply means your 1 compound closer to it raising.

Getting a successful compound:
-1st of all if you compound randomly your just wasting your time because
half of your compounds or more will be fails will be fails.

-If you compound a rank 2 item with a rank 2 item most of the time you
will get a rank 2 item back,this means your skill won't raise if you
compound a high ranked and low ranked item you are far more likely to get
a successful compound.and lastly if you compound 2 rank 1 items you will
ALWAYS get a rank 1 item back.

-and what I've been wasting your time leading up to If you compound a
rank 1 Item (like muck or clay) with any item of a higher rank you will
always get an item of rank 2 or more back, so every compound you do WILL
be a success

~so compound Clay[R1]+Apple[R4](or any other [R2+]Item and your
alchemy will go up~

As the title says this is what I know I might be missing things I might be wrong about things,I welcome any input But after doing this I got the last lvl of my junior and 8 lvls of superior in 1 day :) So I'd Say it works pretty darn well.

:\ eh.. I dunno what rank 1 items you have been compounding but you will not "always" get back a rank 1.

Rank 1s i use are;
Copper ores
Coal Ores
Barley
Steam buns
wooden fish hook
wodden gear/cogs
sea water

with all that they will always rank up to 2 or higher some of them only have rank 3 or 5 so you'll always get a +2 or +4 jump. especially with the coal, barley and steam buns.

with this i can get my junior to a +10 in a couple hours.

So unless you are compounding only muck or something then not all rank 1s will ALWAYS be get back rank 1.

clay also only turns into clay and will stay rank 2 certain items onlu has its own type.

but you are right when about if you compund a rank 1 with another items. it works best when the item you have is rank 1 atleast with somthing else preferably another rank 1 because that rank 1 has a chance to rank up. thats how it becomes a success. do not put muck/sea salt or clay fisrt because they will always only become just that. when using muck use it second and when using clay... well its usually best to just not use clay at all unless you compound it with a diffent rank 2 item that's not clay based and again put the clay second.

Its supposed to be AN item. The one i bolded.

@kojika Ty I have only tested this for a day just seemed to be working very well so i posted a bit early, was using clay and muck because there easy to get without going to any exstra effort.

Yeah I am. And its supposed to be arent .
I leveled my primary (Idk if its good for junior) while using garments from the props keeper. But they wont stack so you need space. I needed the white sheepskin for sofas :D

From kelan , the lvl 4 equipments.

Sorry I've been away for a while,I use my drops from training in rome so 1 stack fruit and as meany stacks clay as possible,but clay can be substituted for any other rank 1 item like muck or small wooden gears.I just like using fruit but you can use any item that's rank is higher than 1

It is easier to level alchemy with rank 1 items because there is nothing to drop to. The result would always be of equal or greater rank, causing alchemy to level.

if you compound R1 +R1 and get a rank 1 item back it is considered a failed compound and your skill will not increase from it
