Hi, is there a way to tell if an item cannot be compounded?
For instance, unless one has seen it all, one would not know if something is actually an item mall or quest item, both of which cannot be compounded. I don't want to spend all my gold chasing for something that is in fact non-existent.
Is it shown in the wlodb database in any way? Thanks!
I was looking at the list of speed gear, was going to try to compound the top item - Resistent Necklace - but I suddenly pulled back as the picture looks like one of those quest props.
So I skipped to the next item - Wing Clothes... rank 1? Hmm... seems possibly an Item mall item! Then the fur clothes... I remember reading WL started offering them at the item or credit mall then someone told me it was a normal item before that.
Geez, I can't be sure anymore which item is or is not compounded. That's when I popped the question. :(
In the rank field of most items, there are 2 figures. Like e.g. for the eagle wand http://wlodb.com/items/2335 , it's 28 (56). I have always assumed it is thus read as rank 28 and equippable by lvl 56 and above.
Back to the speed gear filtered page http://wlodb.com/items?search=&min_rank=&am... , Dazzling Armlet and Frederico's Sword have no brackets under rank. I know they can't be compounded... does it follow that those without brackets all cannot be compounded? Why do some have brackets and some don't, is it a lack of consistency in updating issue? Or does it actually provide a way of differentiating between a compoundable and non-compoundable item?
I know items that can't be equipped have no brackets too. But for those items that can be equipped, does the absence of brackets mean anything?
In most instances, if it doesn't have brackets, it's not something that has a level requirement.
In your link:
Dazzling Armlet = quest reward, can only be worn by human pets
Fred's Sword can only be worn by Fred
Resistent Necklace can be compounded (click on it, there's a formula right there)
Wing Clothes = Fur Clothes (F) and you can only get it from the IM
In the column "Type" it'll tell you (in most cases) whether you can compound it. Some items (ie. Blue War Bracers) can't be compounded in v3. If you don't know and are genuinely curious, pop me off a PM. I'm on all the time, I'll get to it and I've got a good knowledge of what's in v3 and what's not.
