I just tried compounding crude oil to get naptha using shrimp, but it wouldn't work, I tried about a dozen times and all I got was my crude back, has WL decided to make us sit there for 20 minutes now for some naptha? Or have I just been very unlucky?

No, the crude oil is very bad for compound, no matter it will be always crude oil.
To get Naphtha:
1. Collect many coconuts (at least buy coconuts from Bangkok's shopkeeper)
2. Manufacture coconut oil with centrifuge.
3. Recycle coconut oil into soybean oil or sesame oil (if you are really lucky, you would get tar or naphtha now)
4. Compound soybean oil or sesame oil with fish (like shrimp/talipia/etc...)

Then you would get: tar, naphtha or heavy oil (or unlucky: crude oil)

I always compound soybean oil or sesame oil with tin ore.I think the chances u get naphtha by compouding tin ore is higher.

Crude Oil is a "failure" product.

Someone else suggested this to me and I find it to be true. Save it, or spend 20 minutes and firewood turning it into something useful to be compounded again.

Use oil+coal ore/tin ore for better result =)
