i never done a Instance so am wondering if the first person that wins it do they get all items or the first item or do they get to pick one or what

No they don't.Everyone gets a reward,even if you don't combact the monster.
And also:
Yoyo family:reward can be Yoyo buttermilk (70+hp) or YoYo Syrups (70+sp) and in this case you can choose
12 Mascots and Slame's Residence don't give you the chanche to choose,but you get some random reward (usually sp gum in 12 mascots,and fugu hot pot (in number of 10) in Slame's residence)
I didn't do the other instance yet,hope i explained these three clearly :)

umm if you didn't succeed at least 1 fight in the instance then you wont get anything ;)

I dont think u will get a reward if u didnt kill a monster, u have to atleast kill something to get a reward. But sometimes, i get more better items when i kill the main monsters and crappy ones when i kill the mobs lol

mmm,but once i was afk and i entered slame's residence,and when i took my pc i saw that remaining time of instance was like 2 minutes and was completed,i clicked the npc and it gave me the fugu hot pot O.o"

@lunermoon:By the way in instances there's a limit time for killing all the monsters:if you exceed the time,the instance will end automatically without a reward

That time limit can be very short. The 15-minute ones may be almost impossible if the people joining are mostly near the minimum level. They go better for rb'd people, or those 100 levels above the requirement.
