I was always confused, when you try to catch a pet/monster you have to be exactly 5 levels lower or higher? Or at least 5 levels lower or higher?

5 levels lower at minimum, and any level higher than the monster.. Including rebirth levels. If you're level 3 rebirth and the monster is level 70 normal you can still catch it

Even if you would be a higher level than the monster you are trying to catch, there's always a fail chance until you're at a certain high enough level. A new alt of mine was level 130 and couldn't catch cows on the first go. Metatron's looks, compliments of my friend~
