I've seen a couple of topics on alchemy and checked all of them, but none really give a "definite" answer to this question:

What is the benefit of having a lvl 30 SUPER Alch?

We all know that WLO is a game that is built around the idea of growth, and with that growth you become stronger. With that said, the same logic should apply to leveling alchemy right? But recently I've been checking out some of the information and its said that it might be a bad idea to have a lvl 30 SUPER Alch. The reason is that instead of a bonus +2 rank jump, you get something like a +4 rank jump all the time and that you would never be able to compound lower rank items or that it would be extremely hard to do so. I mean it would make the +4 compounds WAY easier to get or at least a 99% chance to get it but how can I make the bases? Is this all true? Because I was thinking I might wanna spend the time to do it but I wanna know what I could potentially get before embarking on the path of 8-10 hrs of compounding everyday.

This might be a bit off but I think most compounders has A LOT of alts with different levels of Superior because of what you've said that some said LV 30 isn't that good cause 'reason' and it's good cause 'reason' I am not a certified compounder but I am amateur and my friend who compunds amazing things told me that he has A lot of alt with levels of different Superior... I wish you find the right answer your looking for. Feel free to tell me if I need to delete this lil opinion of mine :)

ok, so by what you said, one of your friends has a lot of accounts, but if the fact is that you only need 2 since you can have one for low rank compounds and then another for high rank compounds, then why would you need so many? That brings up another question, how does leveling your alchemy affect it? Does it have better chances, does it give better items, or does it allow for higher possible compounds?

@dopelsona, your friend might make this post unvalid.

I only have 1 main compounnder whos alchemy is 21 atm. but i sometime use a friend of mines that has lvl 30+sup and what i can say is that it makes some compounding a lot easier.

The higher your alchemy, means the less chance of failing(getting a lower rank than the original eq). But alchemy is just based on luck. Even with maxed alchemy, you can get plenty of fails. Even a superior at lvl 9 can probably make anything. IGG just does that to piss us off.

There are times when the success rate are good/bad in the game.
You should at least check the success rate by compounding fishes/simple eqs before you start on the hard ones. If it fails a lot, try the next hour. there are good days and bad days. Try not to let the bad days get the best of you. I like compounnding since it's like a gambling thing hehe. You can never stop.
