I've already quit this game and i'm not doing this to ruin anyones plans or be rude just cause i no longer play, but this is this somthing to consider as a "what if" situation. We all knew that this day would one day come... we just dunno when.

No, that's the problem, they will continue to make money and cause of this if they don't have the data, They will delay updates more and more cause it'll be a way to get money.

This is how you will learn that WLo has shut down. As stated in the User Agreement they can terminate service to you at any time for any reason. They are not obligated to continue to provide this game to you for any reason whatsoever.

Not that this is a good way to do it. Most will probally think it is a horrible way. But if they give notice even for 1 week in advance they will suffer major profit losses from the game. So they will not release this information to the end user until the event actually happens.

If you look at what happened to the other WLo. It was sorta a test run to see what would happen. Would people play until the bitter end or would they mass migrate away from the game. In this case they mass migrated away from the game. So for us other WLo players, We will not get the notice that it is shutting down until it is shut down. This way they maintain profit up to even the day it closes.

Sorry if I sound rough on this but I work in business and know how management on the top thinks. It is always about what is best for the company and the bottom line.

It's funny.. Our V6.0 Special Edition is being announced for official launch 3 days after Taiwan WLO is officially being shut down.. How horrible would it be if when September 4th rolls around, instead of the update, they announce that our game is officially closing down servers..

i know this thing would happen sooner or later, but still..i hope it doesnt happen in the near future for wlo :( my previous online game was shutdown after 1 week notice and there were chaos, argues, anger, sadness during that last week, especially for those who had bought lotsa im points or spent yrs there. though that's not a good thing, i personally think giving a short notice's still better cuz i could say goodbye to my in-game friends.

I dont know whether wlo of US will shut down or no but even if we consider that it will i dont see any reason to be sad about. i have been playing from about 2- 2.5 years now and i have enjoyed. i met new people from different countries, religion, etc. i worked hard to lvl my chars for quests/pks and now i have achieved whatever i wanted. i had fun doing quests/events with my friends, i had fun making new friends, i even had fun making enemies and arguing with them lol. what i mean to say is wlo is like a second life for me and i have lived it pretty well. If the game ever shuts down i wouldn't have a problem. yes i would be a bit sad but more than it i would be happy because i will have the chance to start afresh in another game with all new experiences, new concepts, new friends etc.. which i wouldn't do if wlo is still running. quitting for something like this would be like killing yourself in real for you're going to die someday xD

great speech really.. i personally think if you're fairly new to the game it would be rather upsetting to you especially if you're just getting in to the whole creating a good character, working hard for good items, buying IM etc. however for many others.. it may not be as hard to leave the game but that doesn't mean all will be fine with it. This game will one day come to an end and there's no point hiding from that fact. Probably not now because of the new version and those IM event annoucements but in the future you will leave this game or it will close down or something else.. besides like ajinkya said.. one day we will all die ~ and it was nice to enjoy the game while we did. Had ups and downs and blah blah but all in all, regardless of the problems faced, i'm glad to have played the game and to have met the great friends i have met on there <3 No regrets from that whatsoever.

Now I'm not excited about the update. I've been playing since 2008 and I've been hoping to see old friends who quit wlo but if a shut down would happen then my hopes die.

Maybe it's best not to buy points yet or invest much for the coming update.

yea that would be a good idea... but i doubt they would shut wlo down at the moment because of the new version so in a way we should be thankful for it xD

I think that if it ever happens, it will probably go the way Darkdeaver said. I have seen big name stores closing just like that, without announcement or clearance sale.

actually, IGG was working on publishing another turn-based MMORPG called Altis Gates. I think they even had a closed alpha. one day they decided they needed to "re-work" their approach to the game, so they shelved it and kept the forums long enough for people to say their goodbyes.

about Chinesegamer, if you go to their site, you'll see they are going for the mobile game bandwagon. they don't even update NSO, as some people still like to think. they only release seasonal patches for it. they are obviously going for the easy money, not for games were rich people are not buying anymore and newbies are not interested in playing catch-up because they know they can't.

maybe IGG bought a longer license from them, seeing they probably do better than the thai version, and the fact they still offer old games like Tales of Pirates(different developer, but still worth mention). that being said, I wouldn't be throwing oodles of money at it.

if you still play it, enjoy what you can out of it, but don't be surprised if the day comes when you can't log to the Wonderland anymore.

I will be really sad because I have played for 5 years, with some weeks or one month after the start of the game. I have invested A FIKIIN' LOT of my time in my chars....I would be sad for about....3 days or a week and then I would continue playing Osu!, intensely this time. x'D

I am so glad wlodb exists and players can still read about things like that in here, and not have to be like zombies reading only what IGG wants you to read. I made the thread on official forums but it got closed, moved, and deleted later on.
Anyway, we all knew WLO is a bit dead right now, but the fact Thai's wlo was shut down is a bit scary for us now, and I believe is better to be cautious with what you do or the money you spend in wlo now. Japanese version isnt going that great either, they had the servers hacked, passwords reseted, and for the first time we have some items that they dont have.
We just need to know about the facts, so we dont waste our time in things like training a pet and hoping for its RB when it will never happen.

The way I see it, there is only a small minority who feed Igg the money to sustain wlo, but to be honest, they are kinda scamming you with those offers like "buy 10k points and you'll get a "free" phoenix" or a "+60 with +7 forge"...I mean sure +60 is nice, but it isn't worth 10k which is like $500 where I am from....for a +60..... And yet people still spend money on wlo for those sole purposes for their pets and characters. It's all up to those imers that determines if this wlo will last.

I find myself actually a bit bored with wlo now, and I prefer NSO, but NSO is kinda hard for me, because it's in chinese (even with english patch) and it differs from wlo, ex: no bursting. But they give you a GPS and a Econ, but it's has no point really without bursting, as for GPS, it's nice to have. IM from wlo can easily be obtained in NSO too, you can get it for free, but some have no stats when you get it. If NSO was completely translated, only the man upstairs knows how many people would play NSO and leave wlo.

@Tali, The admins on the official forum, you can say something innocent and they'll change it to you cussing, Or something, I hate that forum and never will go there besides downloading special stuff (like before ffomega took down his wit maid..)

I agree with you how they only want you to be a zombie.. Everything and anything goes here and we never remove it unless it is racism or inappropriate. Something that the official never does is welcome everything about the game... I've seen some of the 'respected' people there post death threats but they never get removed.. I posted something about IGG and it got removed. Go figure...

In the almost five years I played.. I had never spent over 500$
I saw no point in spending money on the game when it gets you nothing good at all. I only have what I need to get started.

@Pswk, I personally hate the fact that our version can burst, I'd much rather grind to 100 and rb... I don't like the bursting part, never had and never will, It is unfair cause in one month you can get 4 chars to 180 if you start the team yourself and in 7 months you can max a rb out.. That is no fair.

Bursting takes the fun away from the game, RPGs are supposed to be challenging in leveling, questing, etc. something the game lacks. If you ever buy something like Final Fantasy V(I am playing it now on my PSP...) you'll see it gives you a challenge to level up, It gives you a challenge with the quests and the fights, Even though I can't compare Final Fantasy games to WLO cause Square Enix(Or before the merge, SqaureSoft) actually know what they were/are doing when making great RPGs.
I personally wouldn't play NSO, cause it will end up just like wlo, boring.

IGG is a rip off and a scam, Everyone should've known this within the first year of playing, When you need weights and emotes. etc. just to get started in the game.. No wonder why many people which are broke as hell chose to bot. Cause they couldn't afford the IM.

NSO is actually very fun, the skills are much cooler, and it's more challenging, and I don't believe there are any cheats there. So yeah, even if you have people who cuss you out, it's mostly in chinese and you can't understand it, so it's ideal to spend your happy time in.

Ironic thing is that NSO is almost exactly like wlo, except it's kinda better, but I'd have to argue that wlo has some features I like better than NSO (Full English) and NSO has some features that I like (better-looking skills/free wlo im).

I've made a rpg before, it's actually rather easy, but it takes some time to create it and test it. Who knows, one day I might make an mmorpg and it'll be the next big thing next to Wow. :P idk, only time can tell.

I totally agree with you, the bulls**t on there is one of the reasons why i quit being a moderator in that forum, but anyway xD players nowadays have other ways to get informed so the zombie system wont work haha

I've played NSO but at some point I had no way to level my skills without buying the exp cards from IM, and then it sucked really.
The problem about rpgs is hosting them, you need good servers to make sure there is no lag and everything.
A week before the update, IGG changed their hosts for WLO, I hope they got better ones, then this would give us hope that this wlo wont end so soon.

NSO kinda ends up being a worse grind, because you have to log in and afk all day, every day, have a lot of exp cards and the passive that doubles their exp storage. the strongest skills, hybrid skills and some of the high-end passives need crazy exp.

in WLO, at least you can just do 15R and 2x and still end up leveling, or at least getting a few exp%.

Well... i want to burst 4 chars for quests and stuff and train the rest xD
