There's no certain level you have to be.
General Things:
1. Your SPD > your pet's SPD.
2. You have at least 1 debuff support skill, best if it is maxed.
3. Your pet is strong enough to kill an enemy in 1-2 hits.
Guy 1: "Hey, see that car?"
