You can lock/unlock a topic at any time. So it wasn't a mistake. ^_^ When you are viewing your topic go to the bottom of the page and click 'Edit Topic' (like you would when you want to lock the topic) then uncheck the box next to 'Locked'. Click 'Save Changes' and your topic will be locked/unlocked depending on if the box is checked or not. You can lock/unlock a topic as many times as you want since this funtion is reversable. Just remember when you edit your topic if the box is checked your topic is locked, if the box is unchecked then the topic is open and people can post.
