Yeah they break.. and quite easily >_<
i tend to wear equips that dont cost much or instance items, so they can be easily replaced. I have also found that my equips break eithin the level limit also now. I was lvl 100+ rebirth and my equips went usable fighting mobs in Sea animals @_@
So be careful with your equips :D
