St. Joan hails from the village of Domremy, an otherwise quiet town located in the Lorraine Region of France.

When Joan was a little girl, Domremy was the scene of countless attacks, and the threat of danger was a constant presence. Buildings were destroyed by fire, and whole villages were sometimes destroyed at the whims of invading armies. The people could have given up and let their enemies take the land, but they didn't. They banded together, and under her skillful leadership managed to fight for their freedom from oppression!
